Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by a tick. The early symptoms of Lyme Disease can be mild and easily overlooked. People who are aware of the risk of Lyme Disease and who do not ignore the sometimes subtle early symptoms are most likely to seek medical attention and treatment early enough to be assured of a full recovery.

The above precautions, are great ways to prevent tick bites but unfortunately sometimes they aren't always practical. Spraying insect repellent before your children run outside to the swing set, before going to the park, before a soccer game or anytime you and children are outdoors is one of the easiest preventive measures.
